Conflict Zones are major locations in the world of Elite: Dangerous. In these zones, combat between two factions is waging, and it's up to you to pick a side and fight. For each ship destroyed, variable amounts of bounty are paid by the faction you have chosen using your right pilot panel.
In the High Intensity locations, there are more ships than usual, and factions often unbalance, resulting in one faction which had a surplus of five ships suddenly becoming overwhelmed by a larger invasion force. Not for the faint of heart, but very good for the risk taking commander wanting to line their pockets.
Low Intensity zones are just that - variants of the High Intensity zones with static amounts of enemies. Choose the faction with the largest amount of fighters, and you'll likely be safe, though the larger number of defenders makes getting kills and earning credits harder than in the High Intensity zone.
